Pioneer AVIC-D3 on 2004 Honda Civic Sedan
Hello everyone I was wondering if it where possible to install the new pioneer AVIC-d3 on my honda civic. I see a lot of posts on google that say you need a double din but on crutchfield, and best buy it says in the configurator tool that it doe snot fit on the 04 civic. If anyone has any light to show me I would appreciate it as I really want to buy one actually i think it will fit but again im not a car stereo installer.

i had a d3 in my civic. i had a double din already so no problems for me. get a double din from crutchfield. its basically almost OEM standards
Re: Pioneer AVIC-D3 on 2004 Honda Civic Sedan
Thanks for the quick tip but do you know how come they say it wont fit and not only them but best buy online? When you say you had a double din already what do you mean? Can you guide me in what I need to buy or the sound shop will know what to do?
Re: Pioneer AVIC-D3 on 2004 Honda Civic Sedan
I saw the same thing when browsing for a double-din on Crutchfield. Crutchfield doesn't carry a double-din dash piece, so i'm guessing that is the reason why they say that it does not fit. I picked up a Metra piece from circuit city for 22 bucks. You might be able to find a cheaper one elsewhere.
Re: Pioneer AVIC-D3 on 2004 Honda Civic Sedan
Mankee, I have an Avic D3 installed in my 05 Civic. The HU fits really good so do not get discouraged by what Crutchfield says. The Avic D3 comes with both RCA and speaker-level outputs. This means that you can install it either way amp or no amp. Hope I answered your question. If not, hit me up.
