Need A Little Bass: Cheapo subs or amped Alpine 6x9's?

First things first: i DO NOT listen to rap or other bass pounding music. I listen mainly to rock/ alternative with hip-hop every few months. I sometimes use my car as a stereo for outdoor activities, and I have a Alpine 9883 with 3 RCA sets. So i dont need any "ghetto bass." . Now would I be better getting this set from circuitcity : http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Magnu...oductDetail.do . Or even this set: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bazoo...oductDetail.do. OR should i do an Alpine ampd with Alpine Type-R 6x9's? Do they have good bass AND sound quality?

hip hop and rock have tons of hard hitting bass. as does country and pop. virtually every music there is will greatly benefit from subs. i say go with A sub. you should be able to get a sub, box, amp, and power kit for under $400

If your only into rock i'd suggest you go with a nice 10" sub. Like an alpine type-r.

Doesn't matter if we are american, mexican, canadian or what ever the hell else there is. If you are going to join an english speaking forum, you need to speak it, not speak some ghetto slang.

Advanced enough to understand ghetto slang? I think we have advanced enough to where ghetto slang is looked on as giberish and nothing more. As for saying i need to get out, i've been outside america many times thank you.

Re: Need A Little Bass: Cheapo subs or amped Alpine 6x9's?

With subs you don't really need anything but a mono amp also. Considering how the frequency's that sub's put out are omni-directional, having a left channel and right channel sub is pretty much pointless. So mono is usually the best to get.

Re: Need A Little Bass: Cheapo subs or amped Alpine 6x9's?

just picked up an infinity class D 650W RMS. ill have to turn it down a bit, but it leaves room for expansion. now i must decide if i want to make a bandpass box, or install them in the spare tire well, like a few other members have. i wonder if theyrll be a difference in cabin performance?

Re: Need A Little Bass: Cheapo subs or amped Alpine 6x9's?

ok you want bass but like the clear hot sounding, Polk DB (new ones) 6x9 or Infinity Kappa 6x9s (new ones), im not a 100% sure how much they are because i have the old DB2s from 2002. Dont go bandpass, bandpass is like a hatchback box, and it has weird sounding bass, go enclosed because it will give you the hard solid hitting bass your looking for.
