MTX External Bass Controller

I just got an MTX amp for my subs and I was looking into the MTX EBC. I was wondering if this would be a worthy purchase. What makes this different from the gain **** on the amp? I want to be able to control the amount of bass from inside the car and right now I just change the bass response on my head unit. I am not sure if it is worth it to buy this and I am just looking for some feedback, especially if you have had experience with this. Thanks

it's a pretty good purchase.. but if your HU has a subwoofer controll you don't need it.. if your HU doesn't it's a good investment?

I probably will end up getting it just because it can be a hassle to scroll through the settings to get the bass response while I am driving. It is only about $25 and it is worth that just to hear my friends ooh and aah over another gadget, right?
