Speakers
Re: Speakers
Stay away from Alpines, Xplods, and....rockford fosgate. Pioneers are good, i think. Why do u want to change the speakers..the speakers in our cars are great sounding to me. All u need is a little bump in the trunk.

Re: Speakers
dude, i hate to break it to you, but alpines are simply amazing.....ZERO PROBLEMS...i have Alpine type-r coaxials all the way around and they the best investment i made audio wise so far..........
Re: Speakers
i have polk audio components in the front, they are really good, i enjoy the quality it proceduces... alpine is definitly a good speaker, i heard it in my buddy's ride... no questions on that...
but the best way is to go into the music shop, sample each speaker & decided for yourself... you probably would want to invest in getting an amp too to power those aftermarket speakers so it can have the fully benefit it can produce....
hope that helps a bit..

Re: Speakers
^^^ Thats true. Go somewhere and test out speakers. I personally have Infinity Kappas all the way around and I love them. Get an amp regardless of whether or not you are buying a new HU.

Re: Speakers
Do you have an aftermarket deck?? Stock decks blow. IMO no use getting new speakers if you still have the stock deck.
Everyone's opinions on speakers will vary, because everyone will comment on brands that they've owned. I have infinity kappas and I think they're pretty good.
If you do decide to buy new speakers, make sure you hook up an amp to them. I'm not a big fan of pioneer speakers, like most suggested here. However, each to their own. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with almost any aftermarket speaker, since you don't seem like a audiophile.
The brands I like are infinity, mb quart, diamond audio, and focal. I say just get whatever's in your price range.

Re: Speakers
i dont have personal/in my car experience with alpines. but ive put in already 2 sets of alpine type s speakers in a mustang and in a montero sport...both have sounded liek garbage even with really nice decks. ive had personal experience with infinity, polk, pioneer and focal (in my brothers truck...too high imo). pioneers sounded nice, even with factory decks.. polk and infinity sounded nice but even better with an external amp besides the deck. thats just my thoughts. i have pioneers all around with the factory stereo and they are loud enough for me with the factory tweeters. before i had xplods...BLAHAJSKDGDSFL... thats my .04 cents now
Re: Speakers
thanks im goin to get a new HU this weekend i plan on gettin this deck this one here... and u guys said u think i should get an amp i mean i dont think i would need a powerful one, i plan on gettin This speakers..... so tell me wat u guys think

Re: Speakers
I have polk components(sound awesome) up front and some alpines in the rear as fill. Just make sure the speakers you want fit. You'll need spacers up front and maybe the diy trunk shocks in the rear depending on the speakers.

Re: Speakers
if you replace anything replace the headunit with an Alpine, then goto the mids-n-highs with JL Audio. get a 300.4 mids amp...then kill everyone with them tones..i still need a 300.4, but soon... im waiting my dynamat install on some parts first!
Re: Speakers
i have full rockford fosgate system and i love it. i would also recommend jl audio. and for the the front get a component system you get a clearer sound with them. you will be satisfied
Re: Speakers
2 questions
wuts the stock size of the speakers in my 02 ex coupe? 6x9?
and i ask this hear because it seems like knowledgeable people have frequented this thread. i have a head unit that was in my old car, it wrecked awhile back and when i went to take it out of the wrecked car i pulled the plug right from the back of the unit and left it. but now if i want to install the head unit i need a wiring harness, plus the harness that came with the head unit. where can i find just this piece of hardware? the head unit is a pioneer premier deh-p470mp
thanks
