system trouble shooting
Hey i guys i finished installing my system last night, 2 rockford amps for mids and tweets, 2 audiobahn amps for my 2 12's. So my problem is that every time the subs hit the amps for the mids and tweets cut out. I think that there just might not be enough juice there. Also my speakers make a crackling noise, could this be a ground loop or what? Thanks for any help. I also have a 1 farad cap and 2 crossovers for mids/highs.

alright ive got O/1 gauge wire from my optima yellow top back. then it splits to 2 gauge for my sub amps and cap. And 8 gauge for my other 2 amps. I have a dedicated amp to just the tweets and a dedicated amp for the speakers. I have the stock alt. ...I grounded to where Ive always grounded my systems and this is the first time ive had a problem
how many watts total are you running? And you might want to go to (Alterstart Systems Inc - ) Alterstart Dallas Texas and check out their selection ( i personally run the 170amp that they sell ) .

its just 1100 watts total...I dont have any money for an alt. right now but thanks for the link. Im gonna try running a dedicated power wire for just the mids/tweets amps and see if that helps. Maybe a 1/2 farad cap too

alright well i played with the system and figured some stuff out. It looks like im getting a voltage surge or something. the speaker/tweeter amps go into protect. and one of the subs looks like its unloading. it slows down and when i turn it back down in pops. so not good. any one know whats happening?
