Does anyone have have surround sound in their car? I saw where boss makes a 5 channel amp that looks legit. Just wondering what I'd have to do to do this?

You have to have a nice HU with a DVD player obviously plus an amp like that Boss I guess or Alpine makes one that comes with another HU for extra control and then Alpine and prolly some others make a center speaker that will fit in under the HU unless you have a double din HU. I can be done but I don't see the point in a car really, I'd rather just have a good stereo and save the movies for my house.

I don't know much about car stereos, but I know a little. Enough to tell you that your HU will need to be able to output in 5.1 along with that 5.1 amp. Thats about it, after that you just need to wire it correctly.

yeah, i got a 5.1 enabled screen. Sometimes we just chill in my car and watch movies, so it'd be legit.

if he has a single din then he can get that Alpine Center speaker thats a single din too, but he'll lose that storage under the HU.

Not to crap on your thread, but there isn't really a point to install 5.1 surround sound in your car, when music is only recorded in 2.1. Your not going to get any better sound then if you just had a 4 channel amp and speakers with decent subs. This would only benefit if you play a lot of dvd movies. If you got the cash then go for it, but i would put it to better use. For example maybe a carputer.

just for reference, the rux-c701 you posted only controls the h701, not the alpine 5 channel amp
