Fixing front speaker problem

Hi all,
I had a rattle in my front door and decided to take a look, took off the door panel and was VERY pissed off at what I saw!
The people(shop) that installed my infinity reference series 652i did a very poor job! Since the 6.5 's didn't fit into the weird hole in the door panel ,they simply put it in anyway WITHOUT a spacer or any customising , just screw those babies in with 4 screws ! It's about 10mm away from the panel because they dont fit!
How will this affect the sound from those speakers and what do you suggest I do about these idiots?
Thanks in advance!
