No holes, but this is not a good mentality to get into when doing an install. Get into the mindset that you'll have the car forever and you'll take more pride in the job.

Anyway...
  1. Buy a sheet of 1/4" MDF or HDF at home depot.
  2. Remove the back seats.
  3. Unzip the seats.
  4. Cut the board so that it slips into the seats, just under the fabric, with about 1/4" extra at the bottom.
  5. Slide the board under the fabric.
  6. Attach the board with a single 3/4" #8 sheet metal screw, or use two if you want, it won't matter; the board will not move.
  7. Zip the seats up.
  8. Install your amps anywhere you want-you're no longer limited by the location of the seat's sheet metal!
  9. Enjoy your professional-like installed hardboard and the better bass response you get.

Oh and here's the funny thing.......I actually impressed the heck out of gf when I showed her how to fold it down..........she's like wow, you're so smart.... fact is, I couldn't be dumber to overlook there's lock right there behind the head rest.

On the other hand, she wasn't very impressed with my install at first because the tail light and dash illum wouldn't light up afterwards, but it's fixed now with the help of people here.

I gotta say, I'm learning something new everyday here, and I'm probably older than some of you here too.

Thanks for the help Bires. I was looking for a DIY on how to remove the rear seats (I have a coupe) but I could not find one. Does anyone know where one would be?

there is a diy somewhere but I dont wanna search for it but its simple,
1: fold down the passenger side and peel back the velcro on the bottom middle
2: screw the two bolts out of the metal plate with a 10mm socket (dont quote me on the size but I'm pretty sure)
3: pull the seat forward starting from the middle then slide it towards the drivers side
4: now look on the side of that metal plate where you took out the two bolts, theres another bolt going in sideways holding the metal plate in place which is connected to the other side of the seat
5: take out other side
6: to take out the cushion theres a bolt behind it near the center you need to take out
7: stick your hands under the front of the cushion about 6 in from the sides pull up to unclip it theres one on each side
