aright have a quick question that i need cleared up for me....im a little confused about this...my friend has a Rockford Fosgate p5002 amp running two 12" Kicker CVR(each 400wattsRMS)..now what im wonderin is this enough power given to these subs? i mean im in the car and the subs are hittin madd hard...but this is not under powering the subs is it? considerin that the amp is 500rms and subs together are 800wattsRMS...i just didnt know if this would be ok for the amp in the long wrong? aright thnkz

Sounds like the speakers are running in parallel. More than likely the amp is pushing more than 500 watts RMS.

Sounds like you went to a big boxstore/neighbors part out sale. I would only use 1 sub for that amp. The subs will blow before the amp does.

yea well i dunno he say he got all his system from ebay....right now im workin on upgrading my system...my next subs are prob going to be the 12" alpine type R...havent decided on 2 or 4ohms yet...still looking for an amp..prob a mono this time b/c right now i have a 2 channel fosgate x500.2 which i dont think will push two of them Type Rs..any body have any good suggestions on an amp?something that will get the job done nuttin too over the top or thats going to fry a couple months later...and remember im on a tight budget lol between school and moving and everything...u know how that goes...

The subs have a safe range of watts it can run on.
Check to see if you are in the safe zone.
Try to tune it properly too (ie I hope your gains aren't set to 100%)
