suggestions on new setup

WEll I got a new Poineer DEH6800 HU, some 6.5 Boston Acoutics for front and a Alpine F240 50Wx4 amp. I didn't plan on getting a sub (for now anyway). The front speakers will be wired to the amp but what should I do with the back speakers (stock ones for now). Should I run off the amp or the HU? I thought amp for now and then replace the rear ones with some nice 6x9s OR run stock off of HU and then get a 10" sub to run off other channel of amp. Not sure what to do. I am soldering the harness right now and undecided what to do. Any guru's have a suggestions.... something for now or future. thanks!!

This is my take...
Run rear stock off the headunit, and amp the sub off the other two like you say. Replacing the rears are not only a biatch, but with the quality of your fronts, not necessary. You'd be much better served with some bass.

here are my 2cents.. use the 4 channel to run the speakers.. when you get a sub you can get a mono amp or a 2 channel amp. I had a 5-channel old school mtx amp that gave me 360watts rms x 4 (90w channel) and then 400 watts rms x 4ohms dedicated for the sub.. dont use the headunit to run anything.. head unit power blows... Right now im using a 4 channel kenwood to run my polks (tweets, fronts and rears) and an Infinity Basslink II.. people think i have a 12" hitting in the trunk.. remember no headunit power.. but this is IMO

I've got Infinity speakers running off of a 4-channel alpine amp. It sounds a lot better than stock. I plan on adding either a 10 or 12 in. sub in the future.

thanks guys, I think though I will run the rca cables for the back and the sub just in case I want to do the rears and do a sub. Then I don't have to rip the car apart (again) just to run a rca cable. Is there any problem with doing that?? thanks!
