Strictly opinion

I currently have one MTX 6000 (12") sub powered by a two channel Profile Clarus amp. I understand that according to experts that this setup sucks and I should be burned at the stake for having paid good money to Crutchfield to get it, but to me it sounds great! In the rear I have 6x9 pioneer 3-ways (again, the experts here say that was a mistake, but again, i love the way they sound). My question is this....
Do I replace my stock front speakers (with DEI components) first, or buy a new sub and amp first? Which is most important to you all? Strictly opinion.

Am I an idiot for liking the way my current setup sounds? I'm powering this all by a Pioneer 7300 HU.

Do I need to power component speakers with an amp, or is the HU strong enough?

Thank you so much.

If I were in your shoes, I would get the DEI components and a nice 4 channel amp to power them and the 6x9's. That sub should be fine for now, but the front stock speakers need to go. you should have replaced those before the rear ones.

if it sounds fine to you then it's all good, shouldn't matter what other people think, its your car n your the one thats going to hear it everytime you get in the car.

i personally would prefer the subs firsts. i know you have one already but mtx 6000's probably aren't loud enough for me. right now i have 2 12" xplod n they suck(ey both sub and amp were only 200), n the rest of my car is stock. i'm most likely gunna get 1 fosgate power 10/12 ($200/$250), powered by jbl 600.1?(200). then ya i'll replace the cabin speakers, probably with pioneers since they're cheap. about $120 for both pairs of 6x9's and 6.5's 3 way...

From an audiophyle standpoint your sytem is monstrous ...to 90% of everyone else you'r system sounds much better than their stock systems.. it's an improvement definately.. so No worries about flaming bro.. I'd get the components for the front and a good 4 channel amp...then worry about subs. the Midbass from the DEI's will make you think you have subs..

Cheers

hey if you like it and it sounds good to you, then just roll with it and don't listen to everyone else. I almost got the profile clarus amps, but changed my mind, they look pretty sweet though. I'd go with new components first, you'll notice the difference more.

I would highly recommend the DEI speakers. If you have an EX I will suggest the seperates rather than the components and put the tweeter in the stock tweeter location. When I had my 1st 2 Accords I put a set of the DEI Studio Seperates in each of them. They sound great, but the studios are a little on the costly side. I had to cut the vinyl on the doors to put them in so I had to let them go with the car. My brother now has my '95 Accord and everytime I'm in his car it reminds me how much as miss those speakers.
