Door speaker questions?

Sup All,
Have a few more questions for ya...
1. For those who have replaced the door speakers, did you use the stock wiring going there or run your own wire? (plan on pushing all stock locations with a RFpower400.4 and was wondering would the factory speaker wire work, seems a bit of a pain running new speaker wire through the door)
2. For those who used component speakers, where did you mount the crossover?
3. Does anyone know the "specific" part number for the black panels that the stock tweeters are held in? (Went to Majestic Honda, but damn, they got EVERTHING down to the screws, plan on using them instead of butchering the ones in the car it's a 2k1 leased coupe)

Thanks to all who answered my last question on wire size!

-Frank

answers to your questions:

1. the stock wires will be suffice for that amp. you could upgrade to a higher gauge, but it's not absolutely necessary.
2. depending on your speakers the size of the crossovers can vary dramatically. if you have yet to run you amp wiring kit and all, i'd go ahead and mount the crossovers in the rear and run two sets of speaker wire back up front to each door.
3. i don't have the part number, but i'm sure someone does.. hopefully it's not mohawkboom, cuz he's on vacation.

Running the Speaker Wire from the inside of the car to the inside of the door was a pain in the a##. I used a bent coat hanger and pulled that through, with a good deal of tugging and cursing. It might be worth it to run new speaker wire with that amp because the stock wire might not cut it. I used 16 gauge monster cable for my MTX 6304 4 channel, then sodered the wire to the speaker terminals. There is plenty room under the dash, under the steering wheel for crossovers, just undo those 2 ***** and the panel comes off. Sorry, I don't know the part number.

if using stock wiring, will i need to get some sort of adapter to connect to crossovers or do i just cut off the part that clicks into the stock speakers?

you'll need to cut them off and if you want to get a good connection, you should get some connectors. can get some basic ones for like 10 cents or so. gold plated ones will cost much more.
