Component Speakers?!
Component Speakers?!
Hey im looking to upgrade my interior speakers for my 2004 civic lx since i just bought a new cd deck and was searching for powerful, yet clear speakers and discovered component speakers. I am not familiar with this but understand it comes with 2 tweeters, 2 mid-bass drivers, and cross-overs and i guess you put them in different areas of the cars?! If anyone has information/advice that would great. Also would Ebay be best to buy component speakers, i know bestbuy or futureshop do not carry them.
Installation hard as well? (id prefer to do it my self, save $$$)

You need to do some research....
Bestbuy does sell them and so do many other places like Circuit City.
The speakers go in the front of your car. The mid-bass drivers go where your stock speakers are and the tweeters go in your sail panel and the crossover just goes behind your door panel.
Google "component speakers" to try and get a better look of what they look like installed.
PM me with any Q's

yes, install is a bitch compared to coaxial speakers.
many coaxial speakers are available these days that do not have the tweet mounted to a post in teh center of the midrange. CDT makes a "braxial" set, and I know that Aura makes a similar set, with the tweeter suspended over the mid, rather than integrated.
it would save you a ton of effort. the aura sets have been compared to JL XR, considered by many to be superior, and can be found for $200 on ebay
