2 channel amp

Can we use a 2 channel amp for speakers?
Because i'm installing an amp on my friend's car, and the speakers are only putting out bass. He has stock speakers and the amp is a kicker zx350.2. Any help would be appreciated.

check the amp crossover. if someone used it bridged for a sub, they may have set the x-over to only play bass like 100hz and below.

The amp is brand new.
Ok Well. I just found out that my friend tried to install it himself (he doesn't know what he's doing). Instead of amping the speakers, he amped the freakin receiver! Lol. What he did was connect the output from the deck to the output from the amp. He started the car and heard sparks and smell smoke coming from the deck. I've never encounter this situation before so i have no clue what to do next.
I just tried to connect the speakers back to deck but i'm getting nothing. But when i connect the speakers to the amp and run it to the deck with RCA, im only getting bass at a really low volume. The deck can still play cds and everything, but i can barely hear anything at max volume.
So I guess the deck toast?

omg what a tard sorry. the deck is garbage, internal amp (and most likely sound processor) is dead. hopefully the amp wasnt damaged and you can use it with a new deck.
