Speaker Brands

I understand the size of the speakers and everything, but what brand are they?

I understand the HU is an Alpine right?

I'm thinking of just keeping the HU since our civics are angled up and it would look bad to get another HU. Anyways, I want to get better speakers maybe and a 4 channel amp. I already have a 2 Chan MTX that I can run my subs to. Are the speakers worth keeping? What are their specs? I have an EX Coupe with the tweets in the front, and 6x9s in the back.

Does anyone know specifically all the specs? Watts,2-way/3-way etc etc? I don't think they are very good, but I'm not dissapointed either....

Thanks,
Aldini

Getting a New HU is a big improvement and a must if you want to run amps.. The HU is fabricated by Alpine.. but it's not an Alpine HU... Alpine just slaps the parts together.. The Speakers are Manufactured By Pioneer to meet Honda Specs... The fronts are 6.5" Full range paper cone woofers which can handle a whopping 20 Watts RMS.. The rear 6X9's I believe are full range as well..and handle the same 20 Wrms..

The Tweeters are actually made By Clarion and hande 100 Watts Peak.. which in plain english for cheap tweeters means 25Wrms.

This is honestly the first car I have decided to keep the HU on.

In my previous car I had a Kenwood and a Panasonic (the CQDF-600U) I loved that puppy until it got stolen :-( It had a controllable sub out too... anywys

Would I really get that bad of a quality if I leave the HU and hook up an RF 4 channel amp to some nice Infinity Components in the front, and Infinitys 2-way 6x9s in the back? As opposed to getting an aftermarket HU with the above description as well? My stereo was stolen twice, and I like the Anti-Theft option..

Yes..you'll need a new HU with RCA outputs..Using line level adapters will kill your sound quality for your components and midranges.... Want anti-theft.. get a low end Eclipse HU.. 2 year anti-theft warranty.. .

I'm currently using the stock HU from Honda to power my subs and doorspeakers. Rear deck speaker I left the originals in and power directly from the deck. But I split from the rear speakers into a line level convertor with adjustable levels which helps adjust for distortion etc. Only problem I notice is that at higher volumes I do get distortion but that is cause I haven't taking the time to properly adjust the line level output and the gains. But I'm in line to replace the HU as we speak

I've just got a small budget system at the moment. Running 150X2 WATT Kenwood AMP for the Subs and a Hifonics 45X2 for the door speakers. =)
