if you can find an adapter to fit a 5.25" speaker into a 6.5" or a 6x9 location. but i need to ask why would you want to throw in a 5.25" speaker?

lol i see. yeah, the sedan and coupe have 6.5" upfront. the EX model also have the factory tweeters with pods. i highly recommend getting a 6.5" component speaker set if your civic has tweeters.

factory - good
aftermarket speakers - better
components - best

i ended up using 5.25" Type R comps because the stock hole was too small for 6.5" and i didn't want to cut the sheetmetal.

even w/ 5.25" speakers, the speaker barely fits in the stock hole...i had to shave off a a tiny bit of the speaker basket to get the speaker in the door...

oh and this was already after using a 3/4" MDF spacer

I used a sheet of ABS plastic and cut it to fit, drilled holes to mount it and special mounting hardware. I used 4 bolts, nuts , nylon spacers(keeps the speakers at stock depth), and lock washers to mount it. You could use MDF to make a trim piece, but you would need to waterproof it. I have a pic, but I need to get 15 post before I can put it up . Give me your email and I can send it. It is very easy to do, but a has a few more details. Let me know if you want to go that route.

the speaker is 6.5 inches but its in a plastic mount, the actual door hole is alot smaller, id say just under 5 inches. i mounted 5-1/8" speakers in real easy, so 5.25 is really no diff. just need a hammer and drill. hammer back the metal a tiny bit and the speaker will fit great, then drill four holes and mount. bam done.
