Subwoofers and Amp for $25, must suck, right?
Hey guys, I posted a question about Sony's and people said it SUCKED. The subwoofer and amp is brand new. He's offering me those 2 things for 25 bucks... does it suck that bad???? 10" xplod XS-L100P5W subwoofer and Sony Xplod 2-Channel 250 Watt Amplifier XM-502Z. Why does it suck so much?? Does it break easy, sounds horrible (is it that noticeable??), I mean... isn't it better than not having any subwoofers?
And I'm on the tightest budget, so no I can't buy them and sell them for more and get something expensive.
Should I get them?
fyi, i don't know squat about subs and amps... obviously.

yah then sell each one for $25. thats what i would do. depends on what on what kinda bass you want. if you dont want good quality then just use those. hell i would for 25 bucks. its not the best but its not the worst. know what i mean.

Rep Power: 0 yea, that's what i was thinking. Damn, but can you guys actually hear a difference between a sony and something like alpine subwoofers?? If you were to drive past a guy with a sony sub and a alpine sub?

ive had sony amps before never had a problem with them at all. ran a 1200 and a 800 watt sony amp for 2 years.
sony subs never had, but for 25 bucks you cant go wrong so long as everything works. use em for the time being and save for better quality later.
XSite stuff is good stuff.. i just got a whole bunch of xsite stuff and its good IMO..
xsite is the sister company to audiobahn and alphasonic.. basically xsite is made by audiobahn

if that amp and subs work. and you didnt buy them for 25 bucks because of what 3 people said on here. you are an idiot.
never will u find a deal like that. even if its temporary until u upgrade. its better than having nothing. 25 bucks is nothing.
if i listened to everyone on here id have to import all my part from japan and replace my 18s with 14 inch rotas, xenon kit with oem etc etc. everyone has different taste, maybe u will love these sonys as u cant tell a difference urself between higher end subs.

i didnt say they were show worthy, but they would make his stock sound better. u cant even get 6x9s for that much. and he said he couldnt tell the difference. i dont think 25 bucks will break anyones bank.
but i fully understand what u are saying with saving and buying show worthy stuff. it depends what he wants to do with it. iv known people that have absolutely loved sony stuff. personally i think it was a waste of money for them to pay an excess of 900 dollars for a full sony setup but they still loved it. 25 dollars is a different story though, its practically free.

1. First of all. Are you sure it's "brand new"? It could be refurbished crap for all you know. And another thing. How old is the model he's selling. It could be new, but it could also be sitting in his basement for the last 3 years.

Rep Power: 0 Yes, they are new, not even opened. Has the original sony seal i guess? Yes, it's local, I know the guy. He says if I want to buy it, he'll open it up FIRST before I pay up, but i HAVE to buy it once he opens it and I confirm that it is new. I totally understand what mikemal is saying, but I don't really know much about this stuff and look at all these people saying how crappy it is. I'll have to go to some audio place and test them out.

Rep Power: 0 if you look at reviews for sony subwoofers, all the people are pretty much satisfied with them. Everyone says it's one of the most underestimated brands.. but all they say is that it is LOUD. They don't say much about the sound quality. Maybe they don't know what they are talking about.

Half of those people who gave reviews are probably people who never had good quality things so they wouldnt know. Sony is junk. Buy them if you feel like wasteing money and having to buy new equiptment in two months.
