Question what guage wire is safe? (will 4ga work for this?)

I am about to put a new optima yellow top in my car and I wanted to get nice battery terminals.

my current set up is:
<positive>
-one fused 4 guage power wire running to a JBL 1200.1 amp (max current draw 114amps)
-one fused 8 guage power wire running to a Autotek SS-400.4 amp (don't know max draw)
-what looks like two unfused 8 guage wires... these are the stock positive power wires that go to the alternator or whatever
</positive>

<negative>
-4ga ground to replace stock 10ga ground to the chassis.
-10ga? ground that goes to fog lights
</negative>

In regards to the positive side...
i have been given the advice of running the two amp power wires to a distribution block and then having one wire to the battery terminal. I would then run the OEM car wires unfused to the battery terminal.

I was wondering what guage wire I would need for the part between the battery and the distribution block. Should this be 2ga or can I get away with 4ga? (can a 4ga carry the juice that would be drawn from the two amps?)

The reason I want to try 4ga is because i already have an extra distro block that would work. If it has to be 2ga or bigger, then I would need to buy a new distro block. However if it is too risky to run it on 4ga then i'll shell out more money. (don't really want to since spent so much on the battery.)

if there is some other option i'm totally missing, please let me know that too.

Refer yourself to this chart to decide what wire size you should be using.

http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp

Based on what it says, you should be using at least 2 gauge, personally I would go for 0, as it is normally more readily available.

You can always trim a few strands off the larger wire to make it fit if the distro block is a problem for you.

Yeah, should be fine.

Often they drill blocks a little larger than whatever wire size they advertise it as, you may not have to cut off much.
