Two 12"s or One 15" ??
What about this, which would be the best of the two (keeping in mind that i'm only out to have a good sounding system, no comps or anything):
two Cerwin Vega HED-12SVC 12" subs
or
one RF Punch RFz2415 15" sub
Figure this mounted on a false floor in the sparetire well. Thanks for your input

ahhh 1 - 15 is not sloppy. it will sound fine and hit hard. if u get a good speaker. voiceofid has the right idea. oh wait i even have a pic of it
Ben: I bet that Power HX2 pounds! Btw, is that actually a 15? It looks more like a 12...but then again, there's really know way of telling just by looking at the pic. Either way, I bet it hits pretty hard. I have two 12" Punch XLC's...they're alright...but they prolly wouldn't even compare to a blown Power HX2.
yes its a 15 i sank the box into the wheel well for more space so there is breathing room above the box. and no its not sloppy at all it actually pretty tight. rockford makes a good speaker and with the right power it moves just fine. besides any sub firing back in the trunk is gonna sound alike. you won't here the tighter kick of a sealed 12 unless it was in your cars cabin but in the trunk... no way.
that box was for a hx2 15 but then i traded up for a power and it doesn't sound as good as the reg. version cause the power wants to be in a sealed box and its power hungry with its big ol magnet. my regular hx2 hit a 143 off 600 watts ADS amp. not bad. but i'm building a new box for 2 hx2 power 15 sealed... thats to come....
but in general, a 15 will recoil slower, that's unavoidable, just like 10s are faster than 12s. I was once considering a 15, to go along with 2 12s with the crossover set so it only hit the really low frequencies (I would have set it so the 15 would come in as the 12s dropped out of their range). I'd still say 2 12s, will sound tighter. I don't think Mohawkboom is often wrong.

1 15 would be good. Depentding on the sub and the setup.. but his option is a 15" RFZ..This sub is not designed to be anything great. It's efficient and low cost.. It's a good sounding sub with decent bmp for the price. But a 15 no matter how you set it up will be sloppy if it's an RFZ.. if it's a 15" HX2, or Eclipse Aluminum, or Cerwin Vega stroker that's a different story.. those can sound great.. I Have nothing against 15's in general. But also in general they are pretty sloppy sounding, specially in generic enclosures. Even getting a 15" Eclipse 88151.4 to sound good too 4 different enclosures and Hours upon hours and Equalizing. But it did end up sounding better than most 10's he he.

well don't forget power series is dual 2 ohm so you either need 1 - 1ohm stable amp. 1 - 4 ohm amp or 2 - 2ohm amps. but if your amps power is rated highest at 2 ohms than you can only use it for one coil and you need another of the same amp for the other coil. you could run it at 4 ohms from that amp but then you won't get near your rated full output.

Two subs with dual 2 Ohm vc's should give you either a .5 Ohm, 2 Ohm, or 8 Ohm load I believe.
You can use a single amp by bridging it to 2 Ohm mono.
15's are not sloppy by default just because of their size. It depends on the quality of the driver, power, and more importantly the install.

ok 1 15 = 2 ohm + 2 ohm parrellel = 1 ohm
1 15 = 2 ohm + 2 ohm series = 4 ohm
now you either have 1 or 4
then you add your other dvc that has either 1 or 4
take the 1 + 1 = parrallel = .5 not a good idea
1 + 1 = series = 2 perfect for most mono amps
or 4 + 4 = series = 8 ohm safe for your home stereo but won't pull any current out of your car amp
and last 4 + 4 = parrellel = 2 same as above... perfect for most all sub amps.

same as what sqcivic said but so everyone can see. and i was refering to uncleb because he had said he wanted just 1 12inch dvc power and thats where you run into problems but with 2 its perfect.
