I just got the s50 and the installer at Best Buy told me that I need an FM modulator to use with my car. I have a stock unit for my 2001 ex coupe. Is there any way to hardwire the s50? I'm not sure what kind of connections there are back there. Otherwise I will have to get an aftermarket head unit. I just can't stand FM modulation. Thanks.

^^ that's a bullshit stereotype. some don't know anything, some know enough, and some are VERY knowledgable. don't group everybody in one boat, it's not fair for the rest of them
there is a unit that you can buy that plugs into your aux input and will give you an rca connection for your sirius to plug into.
this has also been covered a number of times, please do a search before posting.

Sorry its just that I've heard some bad stories, and the workers at the champaign best buy here only confirm it. They couldn't figure out which wire of the alarm controls auto door locks, and they didn't even know how to install a cd changer in a 92 accord. they said the car was too old. well a week later i had everything installed myself with the help of some adapter cables. I'm glad there are good installers too as you say. I guess with any business there will always be some bad ones.

I think they may make an aux interface module for our car.... but im not sure. I work at ccity and have heard what the wired fm modulator does..... it still sounds damn good. Wireless sucks though. Its only another 20 bucks, have BB put in the unti and put the Modulator in yourself, look at the Headunit DIY. You dont need any antenna adapters or anything like that so it wont be complicated. If it doesent work out return it.

You need this part to hook it up thru the CD Changer controls. Thats how I have mine. I have the Sportster, btw. Using that, makes it CD-quality, as opposed to using the FM Modulator which sounds like garbage.
