Angry *swearing* Help!

Dammit, i was dynamating my trunk floor today and i disconnected the speaker wire for one of my subs and i threw it on the side. It ended up landing on the positive side of my cap and sparks were flying. I had my stereo on sort of loud at the time and thought nothing of it. I hooked it back up and the sub still pounded. But when i turned it down to volume 3 or lower i could hear humming. So when i started the car the humming was getting louder with the idle of the engine. I disconnecting the battery, changing rca wires and even amps. Same thing! Im thinking it has to be the head unit. Other then the humming theres a loud pop that comes on (from ALL speakers hooked up to any amps) when you turn off/on the deck. Anyone had this issue or know wtf is going on? lol if it helps i have a pioneer 4600mp deck. I dont have a spare deck to try and change it out so any input on this issue would help =)

i took out the cap and just wired it straight to the battery, checked ALL the fuses and their all fine. would it be possible that there was a power surge or something that somehow went from the amp's rca wires back to the deck and fried something? everything on the deck works fine, its just when i plug rca wires (wether its under the carpet or FAR away from the power/ground) to the back of my deck (front or rear) it still has that stupid humming sound.

that could be that the RCAs are too close to the power line. thats normal symptoms. try to seperate them and see what happens.

I've done that, tried using the two that i already have under the carpet and then wired another above the carpet on the other side of the car (at least 3 feet away from any power) and still the same. Im ready to go out and buy another deck, im so pissed!

before you do that take a cheap pair of rcas and cut them close to the plug, join both wires together to make a pair of muting plugs and plug them into the amp. if the noise stops its either the signal cables or your source unit. If noise is still present everything up to the amp is fine.

you may want to check your ground with a multi-meter. make sure it still gets a solid 0.0. im guessing you may have burnt up your ground location or your wire somewhere. well at least thats what happened to me in a similar situation. a lot of the time engine noise is cause by bad grounds.

i tried getting one of those stupid ground isolators from walmart. those things pretty much cut ALL the signal going to your amp. Ill try and check my ground with a multi meter and see how that goes. thanks for everyones input!

I had a problem like that and it turned out to be the amp. Try hooking up a different amp and see if the noise goes away.
