what to get

im wanting a sound system. not too hardcore but still nice sounding. the thing tho is that i dont understand how many watts i need in an amp + i dont know the matching sub to get? please help

well i know i want to go with a 2 channel amp for mostly rock and rap. the amp i was looking at has 250W output. now what kind of subs would i have to get so the amp could push them good?

find out if thats 250w rms or peak. then look at subs that are slightly less then that, you dont want a sub that is at the max of the amp or more cuz then you'll either be under-powering it or making the amp run at it's max all the time.

you do realize that what type of music you listen do has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of amp you get, right?... maybe you meant that as 2 separate statements (i want a 2 channel amp and i listen to rock and rap)...

anywho, like i said, if you give us a price range, we can make some suggestions...

for example, i have a Rockford Fosgate P2 15" subwoofer in a sealed box that's paired with an MTX 2-channel amp that i'll send your way for $300... maybe $250... hell, maybe $200... fits in a Civic no prob, hits nice and clean... i'll include the sub, the box, and the amp... if you're interested, PM me or e-mail me and we'll see what's up...
