I just bought it from Best Buy with my friend's employee discount for 180 and just installed it. I must say it is the best headunit I've ever had and I can say that after only a few minutes of using it. The sound is clearer and there are many options you can do to make it better.

I just thought I'd inform people in case someone wants a good headunit under 300 bucks.

My friend got his stuff cheap with his BB discount buy wasted it on rockford and a JVC(not bad) HU. He got component speakers and isn't going to amp them

pretty good deal. ya i need a new head unit unless i can find a replacement faceplate for my pioneer deh-7200. i'm looking into the alpine unit. did best buy install it for you or you did it yourself? did they do a good job on installing the unit if best buy did it? do you have pics with the head unit in place. sorry just wanna see how it looks before i go out and buy one. thanks man you rock.

i had that EXACT same head unit and the display burnt out after only 6 days, anywho i got the Kenwood MP7028 and i couldnt be any happier.....plus i got it for a very good price because i work for an Audio And Customs shop here in fresno...

I would never again let anyone else install it now that I figured out how easy it was. Just buy the install kit and the wire harness and some splicing connections or what not. The manual helps out too. I took my about 30 min to change from my sony xplod one to the alpine. I would never spend 70 or so on something that easy, and I even hate the whole electrical crap (I just can't seem to understand it)

There it is. But it will look better when I find a way to slide it out again and put the clips that were suppose to go on it. That way it wont look so pushed back. If anyone knows how to pull the headunit out after its been slid in too far please tell because I dont want to ruin any of this stuff.

thats about where mine sits after a proper instsall with the locks. I like it better cause the **** matches with the factory ones as far as how they stick out.

what sucks with that deck is no crossovers and 2 Volts out.I had that one and switched to the 9855 much much better deck..

I think 9855 is the one with the soft touch glide bar thing on it. If I'm right people said those suck too because if you hit a hard bump it would change settings or what not. The one I have is fine with me since I don't plan on putting in an amp or sub for that matter. I'm just going to get better speakers and that's about it.

i have a 9847 and love it. 2v preout is plenty. glidetouch sucks. pretty much every alpine will give good or comparable sound.

dang man thats kool u lived here, btw im in the clovis area.......that decks nice, and u say ur not gunna put subs or an amp.....so itz good for ur stock speakers, im sure it will work out great

Yeah man I lived Clovis too I went to Buchanan High School for my freshman year untill I moved to GA.

My rear deck isn't stock I have 180$ Polk 6X9's and I'm considering components for the front but if since I most likely won't get an amp I might just get a decent 6.5"

They don't make mine any more (CDA-9830) but it still rocks and fits PERFECTLY! The 9851 is about the same thing as mine and it works awesome for me so you should have no problems.

I also have 2 12s hook up to it and I wouldn't trade the controls for anything.

9855 sucks ****....

i have an old skool cda 7864...one of the first alpines w/ vdrive...its eq is nowhere as customizable as my 9835 but i somehow still think the 7864 sounds slightly better...

That looks EXACTLY like mine except my buttons are green. Mine also doesn't have the extra peice that goes around the HU, it fits straight to the faceplate and perfectly flush. I gotta get a pic sometime...

hahaha noooo its old tho!!! that thing used to be my bros...its been in like 5 cars now and 3 accidents[none mine]...i threw it in the civic after i thrashed my old deck when i totalled my old car it's a POS and it hates me. lol...im not kidding when i say i punch it to make it work
