Protect Light came on Amplifier?!?!?

Protect Light came on Amplifier?!?!?
Here it is, I purchased a Power Acoustik Amp 950 watts
I hooked it up to my 2 12" subs, with a brand new alpine deck
I was bumpin the system but not louder than usual, it was working fine for at least a week, then the damned thing shuts down, protect light comes on. It will not work anymore at all. I have a cap on it, so power is fine.
I changed all wiring...said in manual..a possible speaker wire shorted..not true...I hooked up a new amp no problems at all...any ideas, any help anything at all? I have the amp just laying around.
