i am looking to spend about $500 at the most for 2 12" subs, a sealed box, and an amp. I was just wondering if anyone had some suggestions for what would be good for that price. I was looking at these subs: Subs and was wondering what amp you think would go well with two of those. Or if there is something else good for the money, i'm not set on those subs. Thanks for the advice.

You may be able to pull it off for that price and still get some quality gear.......my advice would be to turn to eBay for such bargains. Much luck!

is $500 really that unrealistic? two of the subs i had the link to above cost $140. how much would a box and good amp for those subs cost?

don't get sony xplod subs, there are alot better subs cheaper. MTX, JBl, etc.

i got those subs for $50 each new... they are WAY over rated. but ya for 50 each i think it was worth it. i also got a 600 watt amp for $100 n bandpass box for $50(sealed is usually cheaper so you could probably get it for 30 or 40).

so ya my setup was only 250 n is well worth it. my friends think its loud enough but its not loud enough for me... oh n you also have to understand that the wiring costs alot.. well i decided to go with 4 gauge(so i could upgrade my system later) monster cables n it came out to 100 i think... n since your on a budget i suggest you install everything yourself, it isn't hard at all, just takes a long time...

If you want bass, stay away from the Sony's. If you are interested I have 2 mtx 8000 12's and a thunder 650d amp for sale, I'm looking to get about $500 for everything. If interested lmk. Retail on everything is double that.

If it was me and wanted new equipment for only $500 i would go with 2 mtx 6000 series 10's from crutchfield $119 a piece. the us acoustics usx600d amplifier from crutchfield on special for $249. Then get the q-logic box 044h6510dx for the subs $94. I know you wanted 12" subs but these 10's will sound much better than those sonys.

grand total= $581+ shipping and wiring. Thats a nice setup for just a little over your budget. Run the subs in parallel to create a 2 ohm load and each sub will see about 300 watts rms which is plenty for these. Any other questions just ask.
