Have you ever hooked something through the IP-BUS, (AUX) to be exact, and not get volume that is loud enough?
I purchased the cable that gives you RCA inputs into the deck, hooked up an MP3 player and the volume level is horrible. I turned up the SLA (Source level adjuster) and volume on the MP3 player itself and it still sounds like crap. I gave up my changer that was hooked up to the IP-BUS to get this and can honestly say that I am not happy with the results.

oh it sounds like you're NOT using an ip bus. the rca into aux well i always thought you needed to amp that in order for it to be loud enough. i'm still confused what you're doing.
It works fine it's just that I have to turn the volume up pretty high (40 out of 45) to get the level to what I would normally listen to at (30 or so). The volume of the MP3 is at maximum.

the problem is that it's a mp3 player made to be listened with small earphones. It's not sending the signal through RCA preouts, it's sending it through an earphone jack, wich is made to opperate at a variable volume, RCA preouts are fixed volume. Your mp3 is just not pushing enough, but if you turn up your HU and the sound quality is still good, that's all that matters
