I have a question about my bass?
So I have two MTX 10s in my trunk pushed by a quantum 1000watt amp and a panansonic cd player. My question to you is...how do I get the tight quick thump kind of bass out of my speakers. I listen to rock and I like to feel the bass drum thumpin at my back. Do I turn the bass on the amp up and the bass on the cd player down...seems like I have heard that somewhere before..i dont know though. Please help, and thank you to everyone that does. PEACE.

What kind of box do you have your subs in? If you want a quick punching sub then you need to put it into a smaller sealed box.
so how much will i be looking at spending for a new box and to put my speakers in it? I didn't think that the box had anything to do with how they sounded...i mean it all sounds real good now, i would just rather the bass drum be bolder and stand out a little bit more, i have a friend with an integra and his sounds really good. but now that i think about it his box is closed in and smaller than mine...makes scense now.
i built the one in the diy section from around $60, look up the model numbers on the subs and see what the volume needs to be for each sub in a sealed box and when u build the box, u'll need a baffel (a divider) so each sub has it's own enclosure
It's like drum punching your back, right? Understandable, lower sub freq about 80Hz by 0.5 Q at -6dB and you will have a better chance of having a drum as a thump instead of a bump hitting your back bone....My own experience, don't know if it works out for you...

W/E you do don't mess with the gain on the amps, don't turn them up they will ruin your stuff. What you need to do is get a sealed box and you can put stuffing in it or take out according to your sound preferences. EQ's will also help you tune everything to your liking.
