*** 7thgencivic.com I.C.E. & Electrical DIY contest! ***
Well here's the thing guys.... we need to get some more DIY's on this site! We have some great ones here already, but I would really like to see some new ones come out. We have the basics covered already, so get out there and start making DIYs that we don't have, or make a more advanced DIY.
As an incentive for you all to make a good DIY, I am offering 25,000 points and 2 months of their DIY stickied in the forum for the winner of the contest. I will keep this contest open until September 10, 2005. At that time, we will start a vote to see what everybody on the site thinks is the best DIY. The winner of the contest will of course be the winner of the vote.
I have seen some talent on the site, so let's see what you guys can come up with!!!
As far as rules and stuff, I'll keep this contest pretty open. Check the DIY list (stickied in the forum) to see what has already been made to ensure that we don't get any duplicates. Also, try to make the DIY to more than just a few simple steps, the more advanced the better. And of course, don't forget the pictures!!! You could make a great DIY but without the pics, somebody else could take the contest!!
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the contest.
Happy DIY'ing!

points and a 2 month sticky? I thought you were giving away money or some site decals in colors we don't want, or something... cheapskate.
BTW, I might get access to my old car (since my gf's sister bought it and all) and I could add pics to my DIY (which isn't in the diy list I don't think)...

I am trying to work on a better prize, I would donate something but I don't have anything brand new. I have some nice used stuff but I would like to get a nice used prize. The best that I have right now is a set of Raptor battery terminals with covers that I only used for a few months. I also have some small MBQ passives that I don't need... or some nice Stinger speaker wire

darklegacy540: no, I haven't received anything from anybody yet
tuner04civic: I'd be willing to keep the contest open to accomodate you, if it will be within a reasonable amount of time (couple weeks would be okay).... the best way is to keep me posted about what you want to do and I will take you into consideration

I might be able to stir a little something up.. we'll see how much time I have. I wouldn't be able to take pics so make up a DIY while I'm at work.. too busy at work and not enough time to work on my car but we'll see what happens.

I will throw in a set of battery terminals (1x1/0awg, 2x4awg) that I used for a few months (still great condition) and I will maybe try and get my hands on a set of nice 4 channel RCAs.
I am interested in posting a DIY for installing the Window roll-up mod, so using your viper remote it rolls up/unrolls your windows and sunroof, as well as installing a rear mounted rearview camera. Still watiing for my car to get outa the shop.... Ill atempt a DIY

if you are going to do a DIY like that I would request that you add a small sub-section on wiring relays. I am sure you will have to do it anyway as part of your DIY, so add that as well and that would be aweosme.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

I just bought M3 style mirrors.
thinking of wiring them up an interesting way:
led lights always on with parking lights, and blink off when the turn signal blinks. so a relay will cut the ground or power to the leds in the mirrors whenever its getting power from the turn signal.
o/t 1940 points to whoever does the search for me and finds the wiring guide on how to wire the m3 style power mirrors to your power mirror wires in your car. im lazy and the search hates me. thanks
lamans terms: amber led lights on with normal lights, blink opposite of turn signal.
i could write that DIY w/o having them though. its super simple. ill throw it together on one side to see if i like it and then ill decide on day on how to wire them up if it looks good like that
oh

That is electrical.
Mega, can we include my lessglare HU install?
Don't worry about the 'tangible' prize too much. I could use some points!
