How should i do this?

Just needing a little help on what i should do with the trunk of my car. Since the battery will no longer fit in my engine bay *due to 1 k20A* Im trying to figure out what to do with it. i also have 2 10' Alpine Type R and a JBL power 600 to push those. I was thinking about making a custom box of some sort to hide the batter, but im kind of clueless as to how to do it. Ive built some boxes in the past but im still trying to decied 1 what type of box, 2 the shape of the box, and 3 how do i want my speakers facing? *why do some people have them out and some people have them in?* Any ideas on what i should do? Post some pics. and yeah ive been searching.

congrats on the k20A, im jealous.

what kind of battery is it? If it needs to be vented, its going to severly impact your box design. As to the shape of the box, get some carboard, tape, and a pair of scissors and go to town until you have a shape you like. Whether the basket of your sub is mounted in or out of the box makes no discernable accoustical difference. It's mainly done for show, or if the box is a little on the small side, you can mount it basket out so you wont have to worry about box volume being taken up by the basket and motor structure. The only concern about mounting your basket out is if you have two subs and one is mounted conventionally and one is mounted with the basket out is the polarity of the wiring. If both subs are wired in phase, cancellation will result and your output will suffer. To overcome this, you would need to wire one of the subs the opposite way of the other.

oh and try an optima red top or the yellow top deep cycle (slower discharge rate)

if your using the stock battery, I would make some kind of provision to vent the battery to the outside atmosphere, you dont want a buildup of gas from the charging/discharging of the battery. If you wanna keep your battery in the back, I would get a gel cell battery like an optima which can be mounted in any orientation and doesnt need to be vented.

yellow top is fine for a secondary battery, but not for a starting battery. It does have a slower discharge rate but at the same time doesnt provide current as fast as other types of batteries can
