02 Civic Audio Panel

I recently purchased this 02 Civic coupe, and have a question for those of you that have taken the stock audio system out. I am contemplating the installation of a single DIN sized 3-gauge panel (with 46mm meters) in the storage area beneath the stock AM/FM/CD player. Take a look at the included JPEG image.

My question ... Can that storage bin/ door assembly be removed separately from the deck unit or is that all one big plastic unit surrounding the deck?

Thanks for the responses.

I thought that the lower storage unit wasn't deep enough to house a CD unit - I may be wrong though.

it fits.. just takes a little modification cuting a little plastic and making mounts for the new HU/Processor or whatnot..it's not a hard job to do if you're patient and crafty.

Cheers
