interesting. I thought you can also hook up an amp and new speakers to the stock deck? just make sure the amp has speaker level inputs.
yes u can hook up an amp to the stock deck, but u don't actually hook up the amp to the deck, u hook it up to the speakers. Like^^ said, get an amp with speakers level inputs OR... buy an rca to speakers adapter, not sure of the real name, that will convert the sound waves directed to the speakers into an rca output, usable by all amps. I did this with my system at first but eventually just put in a new cd player.

today me and my friend put some sony explodes 240 watt speakers on his car... and wow.. the bass was really nice with the JVC head unit he had... it hits way better than stocks... he had stock front speakers... but it sounded real clean... a little rattle but all around pretty clean.. i was wondering if i changed my rear speakers but kept the SE head unit.. would it hit hard too?
it probably wouldn't hit has hard as his but you should have a night and day sound also thats what i'm doing on the 5th putting in new 6 1/2's and changing tweeters and adding a 800 watt amp to my cheapo lighting audios they hold a pead of 400watts a piece they are cheap but has lasted through 3 cars and they hit harder than the RF punches (proven) rockford actualy makes lighting audio they are knock offs

the cleansweep is not just a line output converter, its an equalizer. it automatically flattens the in car response of the system, basically it gives you a flat EQ curve to work with. you're suppose to use an outboard EQ with it, its complicated, and not for the average joe.
if you want to keep the stock unit and use a high quality line output converter, get something from audiocontrol, the LC6 is a great LOC.

fromt he other thread you started-
"If you get speakers do not get sony x-plod their stuff is crap, there is better stuff out there for same price. A good set up would be component speakers, 4 channel amp, one 12 inch sub, and mono amp. If you wanna have more bass then you would need two twelves or one 15 and a cap as well.
I have alpine type r components all the way around, with mrv 540 amp, and it sounds amazing. i do not have subs, so i lack real bass cause the typre r are only meant for highs and mids not lows. I might get subs one day, but i woud rather have rims now!
Yes there is a huge difference between your head unit output and an after market one, but it does not matter because if you buy new speaker you will want to get a 4 channel amp, so the HU output does not matter. It would also be wise to get a better HU because if you do not then you will not be using the full potential of your amp/speaker because stock HU does not have RCA outputs.
If all you are worried about is hittin harder, not sound quality, get new HU, mono amp and sub."
Components are speakers with a woofer and separate tweeter that is mounted a couple feet from woofer, sound better. Do not use converts as i have said you will not get all the performance out of amp and speakers, so a new HU is recomended, even with just one sub.
I skimmed throuh your other thread and the clean sweep sounds nice, but you really should invest in a HU with rca outputs.
I would recomend infinity kappa perfects, they re real bassy, my friends got them, sounds like he had subs when he didn't, now he has two of the new type Rs and jsut sounds incredible.
Also man, please do not make two pretty much identical threads, it is a pain in the ****
