if you only need one screen, i suggest just getting an all-in-one. (ie, alpine, eclipse, pioneer, kenwood head units that have DVD and screen) plus the motorized screen is sooo much cooler
I agree with the all-in-one unit. Especially if it has a touch screen like the Kenwood. It is discontinued now but a new unit is on the way. If you still want to go with separate units, I have the Alpine CDA-7875 Cd receiver. It has aux. inputs and retails for about $400.
Personally, I am going to add the Alpine Tv Am/Fm receiver to mine and custom install a PS2. I think..........
I don't know, I change my mind so often, who knows what I will come up with.

If you're gonna run DVD, you need/want a VGA output screen for your car. Those run anywhere from about $300-$2000 depending on which one you get for quality picture playback. Then optop of the screen, you will need a controller card inorder for it to work. So bottom line, unless you got a hookup, or you can get a good deal on something with a controller card, buy a all in one unit.
I went for a VGA lcd screen, and a controller card because personally I dont like the flip out models.
If you get a regular TFT NTSC-out LCD screen, it will look like crap because it wont be able to display detail.
---Conclusion---
If you want a total custom setup, get a VGA lcd screen, and a controller card (required)...(Anywhere from $500-$2500)
If you want something that will work, and you don't want to spend junk loads of money get a DVD/LCD combo (the flip out units) (Cost: I dunno).
-----
Let me know if you have any more questions

I was in the decision of buying a motorized foldown *Eclipse or Kenwood*, but I just decided to get a 7" LCD. Bought it for $200, the company is IconTV. It looks pretty sweet with my PS2 in there, and the custom installation wasn't that much just $300. $150 for mount and fiberglass enclosure and $150 for install. Saved me alot more than buying the Kenwood and I got it at a higher screen size.

Wait a second. I was thinking you would need a controller card but that's only for my case...
If you get a seperate DVD, and LCD, what kind of DVD player are you gonna get/use? Just a regular home DVD player?

hey all,
Personally I prefer Pioneer, but have hook up's (sort of) with Kenwood. I was just wondering about your imputs are about the all-in-one Kenwood unit. I'm considering the new one the 911 model. your suggestions would be great.
Also, any sugestions on sub, amp, components would be cool.
