Sup everybody.
This morning i just bought a AVH-P6600DVD unit and installed it myself on the spot.

I have only one concern though. I've never had a cd/dvd player before, or known anyone personaly with one. But i noticed it got VERY hot after about an hour or so. Is this normal??
thanx for lookin.
oh, by the way, if you didn't already notice....it's in an xB.

Put it in the bottom, recess it a little, and the door will still work on there(have to buy the door kit for the tc). Yes, I know it's an Xb. Trust me, it'll work, just have to recess the radio a bit. I left you the same reply on scion life.

i know they make lil computer fans that are for the modems to keep them cool. but i dont know what you would hafta do to customize the wiring and all to keep it cool. at least you wood have a constant power cooling soucre for ur radio. if you're concerned and all. but im sure they got some at like office depot and all if you want one...holla
nice mod for that car where speed isnt an option =D I had the 7500 model which got hot during use. You cant even turn it off fully, only up to where the lights glow blue but you have to remove the faceplate to turn off. I used to let me a/c cool the screen when in use. It kept it cold but I think its perfectly normal for it to be hot. BTW how much did you pay for that unit new/used? I paid 800 flat for my 7500 used but in good condition. sold it for 600 to a friend.
Also, good luck with that unit, Ill give it one week before it gets stolen...

Go to xoxide.com, get some 40mm computer fans....3 of them will span almost all the way across the dash opening. Just put them on a piece of plexi or something, wire them to a switch, and you're set, as far as that goes. Probably won't do much, though.

I feel more comfortable dealing face to face with anything over $500. Plus if it starts screwing up, burns up, etc, i just have to take it back to them for an immediate replacement....rather than a lengthy warranty process with pioneer
Online vendors will tell you to take any product mishaps up with the manufactuer. I know this because I had a DEH-P9300 that fudged up after 5 months and the vendor i bought it from said:
"Ummmm....take it up with pioneer"7 months later....issue resolved.

What one less 7thgen Vic out of Goldsboro. Hate to hear it. Looks good, but that dash is just screaming for a custom mounted screen. I got mine for about what you paid but I did a lot of the work myself as well.

why spend $40 on something i can do myself in 5 mins! I showed up there with my center dash console already taken apart and my stock HU sitting on the passenger floor.

nice head unit, do the flip flop you'll like it lower.
Might be a good idea to put a little switch near the steering colum so you can quickly kill the power to the deck. If a cop pulls you over and sees your watching a DVD he'll give you a nice ticket.
