What actually fits speaker wise?

So I am a bit confused as to what really fits...

I really would like matching speakers front and back (matching at least by brand), but I haven't seen a set that fits clearly in both locations.

I know that they are 6 1/2s, but what about depth?

I'm really not a fan of cutting and dremmeling--mostly because I'm bad at it.

Now, does anyone have experience with these models:
Polk db650s
Polk MMC650

And what about 6x9 speakers? Do they fit?

Or...should I not worry about the rear speakers at all, and go for a good setup up front? I'm not worried about bass at all (not with my music), and SQ is important to me.

for most good quality speakers, the 6.5 up front it to wide which involves making the cut-out hole in the door larger. 5.25 inch speakers fit well, but i personally wouldnt go smaller than 6.5 due to sound quality. the polk 6.5" will require cutting sheet metal to make the cut out larger.

as for the 6x9's, my alpine type R's fit, but the magnent rubs on the trunk bars. u might have to bend the trunk bars depending on the size of the magnent.

you can use any 6.5 but you need to get a spacer ring, search the forum for that kind of stuff.

i have an 05 coupe and my rears are 6x9s. I didnt want to enlarge the hole, so i put 5.25s up front, but I can hear a MAJOR difference. I have my MB Quarts that are 6.5s and theyre brand new, so Im just going to break down and cut the hole. lol

I just installed some JL 6.5 component speakers in my 05 sedan. In order to install them all I had to do was make some 3/4 in. spacers out of mdf. This was easily done using the template that came with the speakers and a jigsaw. Next I mounted the spacers on the door. For my spacers I lined up the inside of the circle with the two square holes that the bottom of the stock speakers clip into. Then I used a marker and marked the inside of the spacer onto the door. I then removed the spacer and used a dremel tool to cut out all of this metal. Then I reattached the spacers and mounted the speakers. This was my first time ever cutting anything to mount speakers and it only took me 3 hours to do the whole thing. Just don't be scared when you do it and take your time. Just my .02.

Went out to Best Buy and just picked up two pairs of Pioneers...4 ways and 3 ways (both 6.5s). Just want to see what fits. I won't buy the HU there (price!!), but it'll be nice to be able to return the ones that don't fit.

So some of you guys have 16x9's fitting in the back? Pioneers? Woot. I'll definitely have to look into that.

3/4" spacers aren't too fat as to go through the door panel then? Excellent again.

Thanks for the help thus far everyone. Tomorrow after work...
