Amp install...
Amp install...
I have a question. I would like to know if its possible to install a amp & connect it to the factory radio? Would that be possible? 1 more question, how do I remove the radio from the 01 civic ex? Not my car thats why I have these questions.
u might be able to connect it but most likely u will have to get an adaptor for it because im not shure if it has rca cables on the rear, i dont own one my brother does and is in korea right now so i cant ask him.
I'm unusually bored.

It depends on the amp. Some amps have a high level input option. Then you hook it directly from the speaker line. I'm also pretty sure there is a DIY on this site for the radio removal.
2 diys actually for headunit install: http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=110
There are several posts already on this subject, but to answer your question yes it can be done. If the amp that you buy does not have high level inputs then you will need a line level converter which will cost you somewhere around 25 bucks. Then you just connect your rear speaker wires to the line level converter, which will give you rca plugs to connect to your amp. Then all you have to do is tap into your cigarette lighter or some other 12 V source that is only on when your key is in the on position for your remote turn on. Next run your power wire from the battery making sure that you have an inline fuse close to the battery, and run a ground that is short as possible making sure to scrape off any paint in the location where you chose to ground your amp.

you can do it but without a aftermarket head unit, if your hookin the amp up to a subwoofer set up it will sound like ***. but it can be done. if its to your normal speakers then don't worry about it. if its subs then i suggests an aftermarket head unit. strongly.

go buy yourself a product that will accept your speaker wires as the input and gives you pairs of RCA's as the outputs.... 2 that I know of are the Phoenix Gold SLD44 and the JL Audio CleanSweep. They are both relatively inexpensive products and will do EXACTLY what you need.
if you want to add subs to your car... buy a aftermarket stereo for various reasons...
*some stock head units do not have rca cables in tha back of tha reciver.
*better sound quality
*its tha proper way to do it/its cleaner
*cause it looks more custom
