i own this an absolutely love it. im a hardcore pioneer headunit fan (owned a 6300 before) BUT recently i hear ups and downs in the volume (and the weird thing is it doesnt happen all the time!?!?!?!?!). initially i thot it was my ear but i was riding with my cuzin yesterday and he noticed it too.

anyone having a similar issue. is this a problem or is there some setting i need to configure?

Haha, you guys are funny. Are you sure it isn't the ASL setting? I also have the 7600, so if you turn that setting on, it will alter your volume based on the condition of your driving. Luxury cars usually have this capability.

When you drive your car at higher speeds, the deck will automatically increase the volume to compensate for road noise. When you slow down, the volume goes down. Hence the volume will change while you're driving. If you don't like it, you can turn it off by going through the audio menu I think.

Hope that helps and fixes your problem.

LOL - thanks for the clarification duyaknow! i feel DUM :-D!!! now that you mention - my volume does increase with high speeds and decreases with low speeds.

so where's this ASL configuration exactly??? is it enabled by default or did I do something to enable it??? and what does ASL stand for?

ASL stands for "automatic sound levelizer." Just press the audio button on the right side of the 7600 until the ASL menu pops up. Press left and right to change the setting from low to high or you can press down to turn it off. I just leave it off because I want total control of my deck.
