Help on alpine amp!!
I have a V12 5ch alpine amp and when ever i turn it up the led light on the amp turns red instead of blue and i hear nothin comin outta the speakers. Then after like a couple of seconds it turns back to blue and turns back on. What is going on??
How old is the amp? How did you wire up the subs? Do you have it bridged?.
It's sounds like it's going into protect mode or overheating. On the newer V12's they have an LCD that displays temp so you can look at that. Quick fix could be to adjust the gains a little and turn them down.
Good luck.

See what happens when you go for ghetto-bass? Not only does it sound stupid as hell, but it obviously shouldn't be played with the settings that high. Turn the **** down and tune it before some crackhead rips your trunk lid off and sells your **** for a rock.

Sounds like you are either clipping the heck out of your amp, or you are running it at an unsafe ohm level.
...some clipping is ok, but a lot will lead to a lot of damage. Me personally, I went exactly by what my amp instructions say with my clipping light and I have to turn my system and my bass all the way up before the damn clip light goes on.
You should just listen to whatever Wes told you, mainly because he used to work for Alpine
