I've always seen Alpine's Type R specs listed as 300rms, and now I'm seeing 500rms? whats going on?

For what you pay and what you get I would infinitys or something with more bang. I am running JL W3v2's and there is no reason you shouldnt buy these unless you are in the W6 or W7 range. They are amazing. Just hear a set in the JL High Output box and you will like what you hear!

I dunno, alpine stuff is great but I feel you would get more value from like a kappa or kappa perfect or something a little more money like the W3v2. Thats my opinion though.

alpine bumped up the rms on the type "R" subs and took some of the "hammer technology" from the type "X" subs. But honestly not much better than last years

well JL and infinity are nice brands but they dont have anything in the 600rms range @ 4ohms (load)

well in the past years even though they were rated at 300 rms they handled 500-600 without a problem.
