DIY PSP Install V0.5
I did a DIY PSP project I was bored I had nothing to do, I travel alot and I need more entertainment then just my system. I went to a low budget route. Why? its cheap, and put my psp to good use. What can you do with it? Play games *not meant for drivers*, watch movies, look at images, or play mp3's if your deck doesnt have that option. I Know there's thread for a PSP install but can it play games or can detach for safety issues?
DIFFICULTY: HARD need adult supervision
Supplies:
Sony PsP $270 w/tax in Texas
FM Transmitter Modulator $20.00 shipped FM transimtter runs about $20+ I decided to go with a cheaper price didnt want to spend so much.
Velcro with stickies on the back $3.99 at your local walmart
Total Price $294 Installed Parts + Labor GOOD Deal!!
Step 1
Cut 4 pieaces of velcro (2) soft side (2) groove side. The "soft side" cut about 2" long, and grove side cut about 4-5" long.
Step 2
Place 2 "soft side" onto the back of your PSP place how you like it. I placed mine right behind the disc between the lines so it can be easily open.
Place the other velcro "groove side" inside your little din under your deck match it to velcro on the psp. *make sure you do not cover your buttons*
Step 3
Insert FM Transmitter Modulator into your earphone insert on your psp. The other end to your cigarette lighter input.
Step 4
Turn your radio station 107.7 because thats station it provided with the FM Modulator.
step 5
Wah la you have music to your stereo without connecting any RCA Cables.
Now your ready to use it.

LOL, you wrote a DIY that consisted of buying a PSP and Velcroing it to your dash?
No offense, but how is this a DIY? You simply stuck a PSP to the front of your dash and pluged it into your lighter!!! I do hope you are happy with it, and I hope you enjoy using it and don't mind how it looks, but dude, it's not a DIY

DIY? well because i did it myself let other people know, they can do it too hahahahah.
Dude, I wouldn't say anything negative you didn't DIY. Regardless of what the name means literally, people generally have standards of expectations with the term DIY.
As far as putting in the PSP, I say good idea. That'll definitely keep you entertained on your trips. Search around and you'll find another guy in here who fiberglassed his into his dash. Did you consider fabricating it into that spot where you have your power outlet? I bet it would look great in there, slightly angled up.

I'm having a hard time completing this DIY anyone in the NY area can give me a hand? Any pictures on where you connect the lighter adapter to the PSP? j/k I consider it a DIY since he did do it himself even though its an easy DIY.
I would mold it into the lower console in place of the outlet bezel, angled up at me. I would mold completely around the back so I could remove the unit and place it back flush into the mold. It would look awesome.
