Stereo noise problem.

Hi,
I'm in the middle of doing my stereo install, I want a totally stealth system so I bought one of the line out converters from Scosch and connected it to the speaker wires directly behing the head unit. I ran a decent rca from the converter to the amp in the trunk. The problem is the amount of noise that comes through the speakers. Does anybody have any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks,

did you run the rca and power cable on the same side of the car? that can cause problems... other than that i dont know, double check all of your connections

With your setup, I wouldn't put the LOC behind the headunit, why not put it under your rear deck and connect it to the rear speakers, then your RCAs would be a whole lot shorter, and consequently less susceptible to any noise.

Also, like they said above, check to make sure all your grounds/connections are nice and solid. Also check to see where your power wire runs with the rcas, hopefully not at all, or at worst, crossed at right angles.

I also had a big of noise once, try turn your gains down a little, see if it goes away.

I'll agree with ed for the fact that if you ever have to access the lineout its under the reardeck, As for the scocsh I personally have used them and problems, I will only use ole davey boys!!:

there 20.00 bucks but worth it, Then make sure the rcas are twisted pair, they'll help eliminate EMI (elctro magnetic interference)...That should do it!

I put the LOC behind the HU because I'm going to be running a 4ch amp and I didn't want to loose the front to rear fader capibility. The RCA's I'm running are shielded monster cables with the shield connected to the ground reference of the LOC. The power wire and RCAs are routed on the oppsite sides of the car, but the remote wire is on the same side as the RCAs. I tried turning down all the gains but it didn't help. Any more ideas?

yes but are they twisted pair cabling? It doesnt matter if they are triple shielded, twisted pair eliminates emi which sounds like what your getting, unless the ground you speak of for the rca's is the kind that you have to ground? If so remove it. and if you still have noise get twisted pair rca's..Rockford makes some cheap ones and I think knuconcepts on ebay! Let me know.
