OEM battery/alternator wiring setup?

Going with my other 2 threads on the OEM wiring....

My car has 2 wires that connect to the fusebox, 2 connected to the battery, and 2 going to the alternator.

I can only deduce that there is a wire going direct from the alt to the battery, and another going from the alt to the battery to the fusebox. To demonstrate, I drew this awesome picture

I am starting to think now that If I want to upgrade the stock wires I should solder 4ga wires to the wires that are going to the fusebox becuase of the wierd terminals, and then run them wherever they need to go..

thinking out loud again
