AMP and Subs question

I have 2 rockford fosgate HE2 12" (400RMS, 800Peak) im thinking of getting A ROCKFORD FOSGATE AMP. i was wondering what model would i have to get so i would be running the 400 watss RMS into each sub. a little over 400 is ok just need a model. I dont understand somthing to, the subs run at 4 ohms each, how come all these amps run at 2 ohms, will it work with my subs?

I had two he2 and they kicked azz. I would reccomend the 800a2 and running a 4 ohm load . That would be the best way to go. or get a smaller amp that is 2 ohm stable(mono) and bridge the two subs . either way will work good luck

the 800.2 runs 800Wrms 4ohm mono... or 200Wrms 4ohm x2 .. Not the right power ratios here. an MTX6500D would suit you perfect.. puts out around 800Wrms into a 2ohm load..if you want to stick with an RF amp.. get a Power BD500D.. puts out about 700Wrms.. and the differnce between say 500 and 800 watts.. is maybe 2 decibels..so the little less bit less power will most likely be unnoticable anyways. and the BD500.1 is a class D amp.. it's more efficiant and is lighter on your electrical system. I'd also highly reccomend a 1 Farad capacitor as well..(just for the slightly better bass responce during long sweeps) .5 farad cap would be good too..but spend the extra $25 and get a 1 farad..leaves you room for upgrades.

Cheers

the HE2 has dual 4 ohm voice coils, with one single sub, you can either wire the coils in parallel and have a 2 ohm load, series 8 ohm load, or you could have an amp that is 200x2 @ 4ohms, but i don't reccomend that. so, if you have 2 HE2's, you could wire them both in parallel and wire them series to the amp, and get a 4 ohm mono load, OR with the 800.2 you could leave them in 2 ohm and run them one on each channel, because it runs 400x2 @ 2ohms. so there are your options for that amp. it is on sale at crutchfield, but i won't post the price

thanks alot for the input, it was very helpful. 1 question, the subs run on 4 ohms each, is it safe if they are ran at 2? also the amp that i mentioned., that would be the perfect one to run my 2 subs at 400 watts each correct? thanks again
