screwed?
Alright, I've been having some problems with my subs lately, and I took a look, and the surround is cracking/tearing. so the moral of the story is get new subs with greater power handling right? but for now i'm screwed. Anyone wanna sell some 12w3s?

it depends on what subs ur gonna get for the 2 12s. if they're JL like before, got for it!
it all depends on how much thump u want. good luck! BTW, sometimes tears are fixable but i'm not sub technician

Sup..Okay What subs do you have which the surrounds are tearing?.. and how old are they?.. If it's JL's.. which model.... Also.. If you go for 1 Infinity Perfect..use Infinity's reccomended ported enclosure.. It's actually more musical and better sounding froma purely SQ stand point.. and well as all ported enclosures go..slightly louder .

Alright, right now, I've got 2 JL 12w1s (I'm pretty sure they're w1s, But there's a slight chance they could be W0s).
The story is. I bought em used from some parents who were selling there kids stuff (for whatever reason). They didn't even know they were called subwoofers. haha. but they came in a box, and I haven't built a better one yet so I haven't had a reason to take it apart and find out if they're W0s or W1s. I know they aren't W3s or better because of how shallow they are.
I couldn't tell you the age, but I'm guessing it's a couple of years.
There is just a slight tear in the Butyl (sp?) surround, about 2 cms long. Any advice on fixing it would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe I could sell the repaired subs for something better, just a thought.
