Question Rewiring Speakers

I'm going to rewire my speakers and I was wondering if anyone has done this yet cause I was looking for a way to get the wire into the door, similiar to the way the stock wiring is. If you've done this before or know where the grommet exits it would help me a lot. Thanks.

I havent done it on my car yet. actually planning on it in a few weeks but i have dont it many times. Usally all u have to do is take off the kick panel right there next to the door. Just open you door all the way and there is a Rubber piece in between the door.

I usallt take a coat hanger and stick it thru the door thru that rubber piece to fish the wires thru. The coat hanger will also show u where it comes out at if u havent found it by then. hope this help if need more help let me know.

ok actually i just went out to smoke a cig and went to my car while i was out there and looked. I have a 04 lx sedan and u dont have to take off any panel it will go right thru on the driver side right above the hood release. not sure about passenger side but it should be in the same general area.

Go through the grommet with a clothes hanger. Spray some sliicone based lubricant on it (WD40, etc) and it'll make life a whole lot easier.

getting through the grommet is probably your biggest challenge - I'd definitely do that to keep the wiring protected as much as possible

I looked last night at it and it didnt look to difficult. Ive had some installs i have done that ive sat there for atleast an hour or so trying to get it thru there but it looks pretty simple with atleast my 04. And im guess it will probally be the same with the other years.

Little advise that works pretty well if you use the coat hanger approach straight it out all the way and stick it in from the inside of your car so it goes thru to the door. then attached your speaker cable when u have it thru and pull it back thru. Its a lot easier doing that way then trying to get to it thru the door where you have limited access.

And make sure that if u use a coat hanger that the end isnt sharp otherwise you can damage wires in there if you stab them with it. Putting a little bit not much to bulk up the coat hanger on the end will help not hurt any of the wires. I have had that to me once it was a nightmare trying to figure out what had went wrong and trying to fix it.
