So I've been looking at the Alpine 9835 and the ipod interface. I'm leaning toward getting it but I want to make sure there's nothing else out there that I should consider first. Are any of the other manufactures out there making anything that integrates like the Alpine set-up?

I really want a HU that works well with the ipod not just one of those half-assed solutions like the FM transmitter or mini RCA, etc.

good question - I think a few are, the latest Crutchfield catalog I got last weekend had a few others in it. Are you specifically considering Alpine because of that?

yes I am considering Alpine because of that. To be honest I don't really care for the look of Alpines so if there are other alternatives, I'd love to hear them.

Pioneer is going to be coming out with something next month IIRC, that is IP-Bus compatable and will work with your iPod. The price I think is about $140USD. Good news is that this is supposed to be compatable with all of their HUs out there that have an IP-Bus connection, unlike the Alpine solution which is only good for the 2004 and 2005 decks IIRC.
