If you're willing to spend that much on a system, have a pro do it all at once. Most will cut you a huge discount, since they will do it all at the same time.
If I had that much to burn:
1. professional sound deadening $150
2. alpine head unit (with at least 3 sets of outputs) $150
3. infinity 6.5 component's and 6x9's $250
4. small 4-channel amp for interior speakers (400W) $150
5. 2-channel amp for subs (800W) $150
6. two 10" subs (whatever brand the like) $150
It won't be a competition system, but it will sound great.

get kicker subs, you wont regret it. Ive had one kicker comp vr back then that got stolen, now I have 2 sony xplods 12" and l et me tell you this, the single kicker 12" hit way harder than my two sony xplods. Not harder but much better bass.

hey bro, i'm selling a pair of Kicker S12L7s (SoloBaric 12"s) for $300...they're fu(kin LOUD...i was pushing them with a Kicker KX1200.1, and they set off car alarms across parking lots...that amp was $800 alone, but before that i had a Hifonics BX1500D pushing them ($270 on eBay)...the Hifonics is an AWESOME amp, and it slammed the $hit out of the SoloBarics, i just wanted an all-Kicker system, so i switched to the KX1200.1...the subs are $350 each new, so $300 is a pretty good deal...hit me up with a PM for more info if you;re interested...here's a pic:
what are your goals of this set-up?
if i 1g...
deck: some nice pioneer or alpine mp3
subs: 2 15" Kicker L7 or 12" ^like above
box: ported enclosure by kicker or custom made one built to specs
amp: hifonics brutus bx1000
4 gauge amp wiring kit'
batcap 800 or optima yellow top
and definately the "big 3" upgrade
sounds like you want that SPL, heavy bass, etc, 2 good 15" subs, 1 RE XXX 15" or even 2 good 12" woofers can do the job.

also could someone tell me exactly what i should look
for in a cd deck for best quality.
i read something about mosfet,
and having three pre-outputs.
are panasonic decks any good?
i havent found anything in search...

I think you should consider Cushman's offer. Those L7s sound like what you want.
The big 3 upgrade is upgrading the size of your car's 3 main wires to increase the strength and durability of your car's elec system. 3 preouts mean you power amps seperately for front, rear and subwoofers. Basicaly it would allow you to control the settings for your subwoofers on the deck just to your sub. It would give you like a subwoofer level control to turn up and down the bass response. I don't like Panosonic decks. Look into Alpine or pioneer IMHO.

MOSFET is short for "metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor" if i remember correctly...just means that the internal amplifier is more efficient than a non-MOSFET amp...
"3 outputs" has already been explained above...definitely recommended because you can individually control bass/treble to each set of speakers (front/rear/subs) instead of affecting all the speakers at the same time (for example, you can turn the bass to your subs without turning up the bass in your door speakers and blowing them)
and i love Panasonic decks...i've had 2, and i love them both...and if you have a Civic sedan, the Day/Night faceplate glows blue like our gauges do, and it looks bada$$...and if you buy any of the Hifonics amps, the Hifonics logo on the front lights up blue, so all your $hit will match

couple reminders about the kicker solobaric line-up
1) they make them in both 2ohm and 4ohm models. so make sure you plan your amp before making a purchase of the sub(s).
2) the ebay auction above is for the older model kickers, which are still good and slap, but if you really want the new ish, they redone the kicker solobaric lineup in 2004. looks much nicer, supposely performs better with less trouble?
3) its eBay, check out some sites like www.onlinecarstereo.com www.ikesound.com www.hookedontronics.com etc just to check if they got it cheaper than eBay. i know ikesound.com is a eBay dealer cuz i been peeping for a solobaric lately

my subs are the 4-ohm DVC subs, so they can be run at a 1-ohm load, which is perfect if you get the KX1200.1, Hifonics BX1000D/BX1500D, etc....
if you don't buy my subs, that's cool...i'm not going to get pi$$ed off...but make sure you notice that little section on the page where it says CONDITION: REFURBISHED...

Just a question? Why does it matter if people outside the car can hear your system? This is the primary reason for noise ordinance laws specific to car audio systems. Stupidity like this. Let me guess, you're gonna drive around with your windows down so bums walking down the street can hear it. You're going to spend the money you do on a system so some homeless guy can enjoy your tunes? Why do people outside the car need to hear it? Please, be responsible with it. If you're going to give car audio enthusiasts a furthering bad reputation, please, keep your money in your pocket.
That said, I doubt you care much about SQ, you just want SPL correct? The Kickers would be fine, even some comp VR's. Not the route I'd go though.
I'd keep the stock rear speakers, as rear fill is waaaaay overrated, and they'll scream at the passengers in the back seat if you upgrade and amp. Replace the fronts with a component set, or seperates. I'd personally go with Adire Audio Koda's for the midbass, and some infinity tweets or image dynamics NX30 tweets. And a crossover picked up at several online retailers, crossed where ever you want them crossed at (within speaker specs of course). For the front amp, I'd pick up a nice 2 channel that'd give them the power that they need. For subs I'd go with the Adire Audio Shiva 12's (A pair). And for the sub amplifier, I'd pick up a JBL Bp Power series amp.
I'd keep the stock deck as you could run what you want fine off of it by use of a line out convertor. If you insist on getting one, I'd personally pick up a nakamichi or a pioneer. I like the nak because it matches perfect with the dash lighting and retains the stock look with aftermarket features. Gives you some added security.
You'd be able to find all of that for well under 1 grand, have money left over for an Optima replacement, or some mat deadener and foam, or an alarm (which I'd invest in from experiance with theives). Don't skimp on the install. Make sure to do it properly. The audio is only as good as the install, skimp there, and your system will sound like garbage, facts are facts. If you can't or don't know how to properly do it, have it done professionally.

have u ever been to bass competitions or rolled up nex to a car who is tryin to bass? id love to show them up. hence "competition bass"
im not even goin as far as more than 2 subs i.e. suburbans, yukons n all that, come on im in a lil civic. i will have the loudest import in town, that gets recognition and an accomplishment. i plan on gettin my alarm at about the same time.
your comment in a sense is really contradicting the foundation of modding cars in the first place for many people, performancewise...-emissions, exhaust noise, street racing- why spend your money on it, it will give racers a bad reputation...? doesnt make sense does it, exactly. to people who do not mod their cars, they think racers are dum...its all opinionated, and you've stated ur opinion but there is no argument. stupidity is in the eye of the beholder.
also, elaborate on how it would give car audio enthusiasts a bad name? u are in your car wit ur system, and i am in mine, so whats the big deal?

You're what, 16, 17, maybe 18? You'll see what I'm talking abuot one day. My comment isn't contradicting. Stupid car modding will continue to happen, and continue to give pelople a bad name. Every one that sees a modified import generally sees it as a dumb kid trying to be like the Fast and the Furious. They lump people that work on their cars into one category before ever knowing them because of the stupidity of few. I have never modified my car for the purpose of showing someone up. The reson for that is people put their hard work into their car as well, and it may be all they can afford, so why try to make them feel bad for not being as fortunate? Again though, people will see modified cars in all the same light because of the stupidity of those that race on the streets, or crank their systems to try and impress some more of their ignorant and immature friends. Why do that? It's immature, and stupid. Also, people that get SPL systems installed in their cars for the purpose of SPL and "competition" style bass as you call it, also do so to compete at a competition, not on the streets. With your budget, you're not going to have the loudest import, nor the cleanest loud sounding import. Maybe the largest rattle trap, but certainly not the loudest. There's always someone out there with betetr stuff. Last I checked, Ludlam was in Florida. I'd be willing to bet he'd "compete" with you, within the bounds of a competition of course. As far as asking me if I've ever been to competitions, yeah, I've been to more than you knew existed I'd wager. I don't really care for SPL, though I have to worry about it because that's what most of the kids shopping for systems around here want. Being as I work part time in the audio shop, I have to keep up with the trends. Personally, I'd much rather go to a competition and sit in the SQ booths all day to listen to the cars, but like I said, kids these days only want to try and impress their friends by making their license plate buzz the most. For asking if I've ever rolled up next to someone "bassing" at a light and wanted to show them up? Nah, that's ignorant. The kid probably dumped all of their savings into a system that sounds like crap outside the car, has bad imaging, and rattles like a baby rattle. I just smile at their ignorance and give them what they think is a nod of approval, knowing mine sounds better and if I want to can be much louder. I also know that there are people that have their own radios as well that they are trying to hear and that they don't want to listen to mine. But, again, like I said, that'll be learned with age.

yea im 18, and i see/understand what youre talking about. but once again its opinionated, and until that 'one day' which will come, im gonna have fun.
i live in a big town wit small-city people, kno what i mean? everybody knows everybody. and alot IS about impression & recognition. so sorry for being an ignorant 18 year old, but at least im gonna have fun while at it. are u a shy person or something? do u like going to the beach, clubbing, downtown, movies, etc? i do and to me it is fun turning heads and getting attention. to some i will be ignorant, to others i will be cool, to me i will be having fun. again, we must be two totally different people, with totally different opinions.
p.s. i am 100% knowledgable that there will be systems louder than mine that can show me up, but like i said, i will have the loudest import in my town.

I don't seek other's approval. Sure, I go out, etc, but I don't have to be an attention ***** 24/7. If it makes me happy, that's all that matters. I don't see how others, other than kids, will see it as cool. Wow, I can hear your music outside your car, I'm impressed... especially with it sounding like it's falling apart. Oh, and I wasn't trying to flame, just trying to give you an honest opinion. Which, I did give recommendations in my first post that'll do exactly what you want to do for a fraction of the cost of the other recommendations, and actually will still have a degree of SQ as well. Only thing is the setup I recommended will sound better than the others (installed correctly of course) for a fraction of the cost.
awesome thanks, nex time try not to use degrading words to describe your opinions. u had a very good point in your suggestion, but it was pretty much offset by your remark of calling it stupid. The thread title is "Any Recommendations" and I ask what will give me deep/loud bass...I did not ask for your opinion on if it was stupid or not. And on the brighter side I appreciate your recommendation and I have it up for consideration, as well as cushman's offer. My goal of this thread has been achieved and I do have a better idea of whats out there now...
but if anybody else knows of an awesome setup let me kno!

y'all both have very valid points...i don't go around blasting my system when there's a mother pushing a baby stroller down the sidewalk, or when i'm next to a 85-year old dude chillin' at a red light in his Lincoln, or anything like that, but please believe that if you roll up next to me leaving the club pushin' some Xplods with a busted a$$ Boss amp trying to make ME look, i'm gonna take pride in blowing your windows out...i'm a very competitive person (for lack of a better word), so part of my motivation is just making sure i'm not going to be outdone...and i do EVERYTHING myself, so it's not a matter of who can pay to get a nice system, but who is going to take the time and do it on your own...people look at my setup, the XBOX in the glove compartment, etc and want to know where i had it done, and it's awesome to be able to say "in my garage"...i'm 20 years old, but i don't see how anyone, whether they're still a kid or so old they'd die if they sneezed, can be willing to settle for second best...
and it's not a "license plate rattling competition"...trust me, i've done my share of ghetto blaster installs (subs and amps are worth more than the car, no sound deadening, etc)...i have 3 Dynamat Xtreme bulk packs between my firewall and trunk lid, so there's not much heard when the doors are shut
...
i have 4 SoloBaric 12"s pushed by a pair of KX1200.1s, and i have both amps on independent switches, so most of the time i'm only rolling with a pair of the subs bumping...but my system is clean, it's loud, and it definitely helps me attract more business...so you say turn it down, I say crank that $hit up...
just my $.02, but i have to stick with CivicRidaz1 overall on this one...plus, us FL boys gotta stick together
...my location says San Antonio, but that's just because the USAF sent me here...i'll be reppin FL forever
