Would leaving the tweeters installed change the impedance the HU/amps sees?

Question Would leaving the tweeters installed change the impedance the HU/amps sees?

Hmm...I was thinking of leaving my tweets installed when I installed my 6002si coaxials in my doors. It appears that they are wired parallel in the wiring harness. So, wouldn't that reduce the impedance of both sets of speakers (the tweeters and the infinity coaxials) to 2ohms, assuming the tweeters are 4 ohms?

good question, I never really looked at our cars before but if I have time at work tomorrow, I'll pull my car in and measure it.

I do believe stock tweeters are wired out of phase with repect to the woofer. It will change your HF response anyway, but not anything below xo point.

Are you:
-connecting both directly to the HU?
-amplifying just the coaxials?

I think that they are wired out of phase, thus making the resistance measure at 6 ohms (I think). I can't imagine the stock HU being 2 ohm stable. BUT, I don't know the resistance of the factory speakers either, so the best thing to do is measure it with an ohm meter. They both might be 8 ohm wired in phase making the load 4 ohms. If you replace them with the 4 ohm speakers, you might be putting too big of a load on the HU. Help, now I'm curious! Does anyone have an ohm meter with the factory tweets installed?

I haven't got around to installing my amps yet, just my HU powering all four speakers. I got one of my doors deadened and the infinity 6002's in. I turned on my deck listened to some good music with good highs, the plugged in the tweets-I couldn't tell any change coming from the coaxials. I intend to install the other speaker tomorrow (weather permitting) and I'll try to scope the tweets then.
