ok...the site search function sucks...i cant find any good pics of aftermarket hu's in our cars..
here's your chance to show off what you have...
i'm looking for something that looks good, is affordable, and produces more power and bass than the crappy stock deck...

Sorry for the blurry pic but its a Panasonic DFX883U.. I like it
Might be a little too bright at night at full brightness LOL but I think it looks good.. A lot of people will say dont get panasonic but I think their headunits are pretty nice w/ good quality/performance... The Rizing Sun

i finally found a nice deck that looks closer to STOCK without having to fork out a ton of $$$ for a nakimichi!! i dont like flashy HU's. i prefer something that has a conservative clean look.
the 2004 line of clarion decks have matte black plastic and black aluminum on the face. the backlight can be adjusted to the stock orange color to match the dash lights.
here's a pic of the 845mc w/ music catcher...the actual deck looks way better in person

i agree that the 2004 clarion line was very attractive. the 745mp was a really good deck and nice looking.
i'll have pics of my clarion drz9255 with my "custom" dash tomorrow (or later tonight). my first effort at custom work, i think it turned out okay, but i'll let you guys be the judges.

here are a couple pics:
in this first one, you can see one of my problems areas, the bottom right just below the deck, there is a line, thats a low spot that i should have filled in or sanded better:

in this second pic, you can see a line to left below the deck, again, its something that should have been sanded better:

i will fix those soon, the deck is coming out for more finishing touches, just have no time.

definately a waste of space, i think a double din headunit would have looked better, but i love my headunit, i cant give it up for anything at this point. i just didnt care for the pocket, so i didnt incorporate one into the dash. besides, the deck is centered and recessed, and i dont get much, if any, sun light glare on it now.
