fairly sure, he said it was a 7865 although it was not in packaging. It was a hair too tall and a hair too narrow.. I wonder if it is a bad piece or if the opening was slightly different for an 04??

while you are at it take a pic of what your dash looks like when you take it out, I want to see what your opening looks like around the radio as I think they may have changed it for 04.

The kit you have, if the bottom is like the top, will give you about .75 din on the bottom. The extra material is taking away from the space is why there's no room.

the problem is that the piece is slightly to tall and slightly to narrow to fit in the radio opening... other than that it looks normal
that pic i posted is of a metra 99-7897 on top and no trim on the bottom
the kit I bought looks right, but it's just slightly askew

according to metra they said it was NOT a metra kit as the metra has a part # on the back and mine does not (that I can find anyway).
if anyone can verify that this piece does have the part # on the back I would appreciate it.
but he DID confirm that it will fit an 04.

where abouts
i would take the piece back too but since it didnt fit i tried to cut it and file it and make it fit and it took a lot of cutting to get it tothe point that it fit in well enough to realize that it was slightly askew.

However, I'd recommend going into the store where you bought it from (preferably when there are a lot of customers) and asking them why they sold you something and lied about the manufacturer along with fitament. Except add in the expletives of your choice. hey'll get you another one real quick to shut you up. (I actually got a discount on some shoes using this method today. I found a pair I liked at Hibbets, they were an exclusive hibbets shoe (meaning that they were the only ones that got the color scheme, etc). The local store had one pair in my size, the display. They were scuffed up, so I asked them if they could call another location nearby to see if they had the shoe in my size. They did, and swore that they weren't the display. So I get there, and the shoe was there, AND IT WAS THE FVCKING DISPLAY! I'm irate at this point, but take a look at it. Sure enough, a small scuff on the toe. White shoe, scuff on the toe (granted it was abuot 1 mm wide, but her, I'm buying the shoes here, I don't like my shoes to be pre-scuffed). I start raising hell about them lying and all this stuff when on the phone with the cartersville store just to get me there, etc. The salesman goes in the back, comes back out and says "tell you what, I'll give you $10 off the ticketed price, plus a 20% coupon for all purchases." I agree, and get me new shoes for $80 instead of $110. I also got something else that's unrelated for 20% off, but you get the drift.)

Local shop I do business with, I could get it for $15 shipped. Course, you could get it pretty much anywhere online or at a store for that. Just depends on how easy it is to get them to order it (as most shops don't stock this particular kit). It'd probably take a little longer for me, cause they'd ship it to me, then I'd ship to you, so twice the ship time.
EDIT: Just noticed you're in canada, probably more for shipping, and take a lot longer cause of customs. Boo customs...

Like I said, shipping would be a bithc to Canada. Check with some local shops near you to see if they can get you one drop shipped with their normal shipment. They won't charge you shipping, just for the dd piece. I'll see what I can get it done for, but I doubt my original estimate will hold water because of the international shipping.

...hope everything works out!
