LCD dash replacement
LCD dash replacement
Awhile back I was at Gspeed picking up some parts and this guy in a 7th Gen Civic Si pulls up. It was decked out with bolt on mugen parts and looked pretty clean. He had a Kenwood or Pioneer 7” LCD that replaced his tach/speedo/primary gauges. He told me it connected directly into the stock wire harness. Does any one know anything about this? I had something similar in my old 7 but it was just a dash unit from Microtech. This one was not a standalone system like Microtech but rather a plug-in that simply replaced the analog gauges with a LCD version. I have a buddy with an element (dont laugh) who is looking to do this to his car. Anyone with any info to share would be great.
I believe that is this model http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...850099,00.html i hope this helps.
He probably had a carputer interpreting the odbc-II codes and displaying it on the display something like this. http://www.mp3car.com/upload/img/91061401.jpeg
Concept yes
I remember him saying it was the concept Mugen car but the dash was on the left so I didn't pay to much attention, However it was super clean and simple, Mugen style so I didn't rule it out. I've looked everywhere including this site and nothing. If any one has any links hook me up. Thanks

I have something similar running in my center console. Alot of people have told me I should take my gauges out and move this to that area... but I was like.. um NO. LOL. Heres the pic:
I wonder if you can get the odometer reading from the ecu and display it. Then you could basicly just place the screen over the plastic and glass it in or something. When you go to sell the car take out the screen and buy a new plastic piece to cover the gauges for about $19.00
To TheSmuggler, What kind of LCD screen is that and what are you running. I cant tell from the picture but it looks like a clarion, Is it displaying the RPM and Speed only or can it do gas level, oil pressure ect.
